Timberline Windsor | Feed My Soul: Psalm 51 | Donny Abbott

Series: Feed My Soul

July 12, 2026 | Donny Abbott

Psalm 51 is a powerful prayer of repentance written by King David after he was confronted by the prophet Nathan for his sins of adultery with Bathsheba and arranging the death of her husband, Uriah. The sermon emphasizes that true spiritual growth begins with taking personal responsibility for our sins rather than making excuses or trying to hide them. Like David, we are called to honestly confess our wrongdoing, trusting that God responds with mercy, forgiveness, and cleansing. However, God's work does not stop at forgiveness—He transforms us by creating a new heart and renewing our spirit, something only He can do. As we experience His grace, our lives are changed, leading us to extend that same mercy to others. Ultimately, Psalm 51 reminds us that our failures do not have to define us; through repentance and God's grace, they can become the starting point of restoration, transformation, and a renewed relationship with Him.
