Timberline Church | Psalm 118 Part 2: How Jesus Fed His Soul | Jeff Lucas

Series: Feed My Soul

July 05, 2026 | Jeff Lucas

As Jesus prepared to face the cross, He sang the closing verses of Psalm 118- a song of confidence, gratitude, and hope that nourished His soul in the darkest moment of His earthly life. These timeless words remind us that, like Jesus, we have a choice in how we respond to life's challenges. Rather than being defined by fear or uncertainty, we can anchor ourselves in God's faithful presence, build our lives on Christ the Cornerstone, and rest in the assurance that we are deeply loved by Him.

Psalm 118 also calls us to cultivate a life marked by gratitude and resurrection hope. Thankfulness reshapes our perspective, even in difficult seasons, while the victory of Jesus over death gives us confidence that suffering and loss will never have the final word. Because Christ has conquered the grave, we can face both today's struggles and tomorrow's uncertainties with joy, courage, and the unshakable hope that God always has the last word.
