Timberline Church | Storehouse: I Am A Steward, Not An Owner | Aaron Hanson
Series: Storehouse
November 01, 2026 | Aaron Hanson
What does it really mean to trust God with our finances? In a world that encourages us to hold tightly to what we earn, Scripture invites us to see giving as an act of worship, obedience, and trust. Continuing our Storehouse series, Malachi 3 challenges us to recognize that everything we have ultimately belongs to God, and that tithing is more than a financial transaction—it's a reflection of where our hearts are anchored. Rather than allowing money to become a source of anxiety, worry, or greed, we're invited to experience the freedom that comes from surrendering our resources to God and trusting Him as our provider.
Generosity is a spiritual discipline that grows through intentional practice. By learning to give first, consistently, cheerfully, and sacrificially, we begin to shift our perspective from obligation to opportunity, recognizing the joy of participating in God's work. Tithing isn't simply about returning a portion of what we've been given; it's about developing a heart that trusts God with everything. As we take steps of obedience and place Him first in our finances, we discover that true generosity is not measured by how much we give, but by the faith and surrender behind it.
