Small Groups

Timberline 20s and 30s

Thursday, 7:00pm

We meet on the first Thursday of the month in a large group and have various small groups that happen weekly all around the city. A typical large group gathering will have dinner for the first half and a Jesus-centered message for the second half. It's a great place to come meet new people and we'd love to have you! We meet in the student center, which is on the north east side of the building. It's helpful to park by the playground and walk in the main entrance from there- you can't miss us that way! We have a pretty diverse group- married people, single people, single parents and young families, adults with disabilities, young professionals and grad students. Our target age range is 23-35.

Our typical weekly gathering will have biblical teaching paired with discussion. The teaching will come from either one of our adult leaders or a guest speaker. Our goal is to have just as much discussion as there is teaching. We value this so highly because it builds community and allows us to learn from one another. We occasionally have worship alongside our teaching and discussion, other times we have entire nights dedicated to worship and prayer.

Women's Bible Study 22'- Breakthrough

Thursday, 9:30am

Join us Thursdays, January 13 through February 24, 930-1130 am. We will NOT be meeting January 20.

Let go of feeling like you are not a "good enough" Christian and find freedom in Christ by studying Paul's letter to the Galatians in Breakthrough by Barb Roose. Have you ever felt that being a good Christian means you've got to follow a bunch of rules and measure up?
If so, you aren't alone! In this six-week Bible study of Galatians, Barb Roose shows us that even the believers in the early church struggled to let go of rule-keeping and performance in order to embrace God's free gift of grace.

In his letter to the Galatians, Paul pours out his heart and faith to set them straight, addressing so many of the same questions and problems we still face today, such as…

- Who has led you to believe you have to follow rules to be right with God? - Why do you think you have to try to be perfect for God? - How do we stay free in Christ If you've ever struggled with these questions or felt trapped by rules or religion, this study will provide a path to discover your freedom in Christ.

Through this study women will learn to: - Stop trying to measure up and embrace God's grace - Distinguish between lies and truth - Embrace God's promise of freedom

Note: You will need to do a weeks worth of homework AHEAD of the first meeting. The participant book is on Amazon Buy your book here. Once you get your book, please start working on Week 1. We will go over the material and watch the video for week 1 at the first meeting.

Women's Bible Study 22'- Forgotten God

Sunday, 7:00pm

Sundays, January 9 through February 27 from 7-830PM

Forgotten God, author Francis Chan reminds us of the true source of the church's power—the Holy Spirit. Chan contends that we've ignored the Spirit for far too long, and that without Him, we operate in our own strength, only accomplishing human-sized results. Offering a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit's direction in our lives the workbook is designed to initiate and facilitate both individual study, and small group discussion, interaction and practical application of the message of Forgotten God.

Thursday, 9:30am

Join us Thursdays, January 20 through February 24, from 930-1130 am.

As we are journeying through this 6-week Bible study, you will learn how to let go by exploring Jesus' time of testing in the wilderness. As you look to His example, you'll discover six principles that will equip you to let God lead you to victory as you deal with the problems and pain you are facing. Along the way, you will compare Jesus' responses to the Israelites, who also faced a wilderness season centuries earlier. This study will equip you to give up control, reach for God, let go of fear, and experience the blessings of the surrendered life.

This study is a blessing. You will need to do a weeks' worth of homework AHEAD of the first meeting. The participant book is on Amazon for $13.99. Buy your book here. Women's Bible Study 22': Beautiful Already

Thursday, 9:30am

Join us Thursdays, March 10 through April 14, 930-1130 am.

During this six-week Bible study, women will unpack the beliefs or experiences that are holding them hostage. We will explore God's truth about beauty throughout the Scriptures, digging into passages in both the Old and New Testaments and applying the truths in their lives. We will move away from over-focusing on unrealistic expectations and perceived flaws toward God's viewpoint of their hearts, minds, bodies and souls.

As women make this journey, we will:

-Be set free from the trap of comparison and self-ridicule -Become comfortable in their own skin -Reach beyond themselves to encourage and support other women

By learning to see the goodness, blessing, and purpose for our bodies no matter our size, shape, or style, women will overcome discontent and comparison and learn to live fully as the beautifully unique creations God designed us to be.
