EL ROSARIO, GUATEMALA — George and Vonda Sisneros and their family live in El Rosario, Guatemala (a small village tucked in the mountains of Guatemala) and work with the people there. People like Maria, a single mom of 4 boys, who is defying the odds. She is fighting for her boys and for their future. You see, There’s a silent epidemic eroding families in the villages of Guatemala — the absence of fathers. Men are leaving their families; leaving an aftermath of mothers and children to fend for themselves. The Sisneros family left a comfortable life in the U.S. to work with the women and the boys of El Rosario to help make a difference for the future
“We landed in Guatemala City on July 12, 2012 with our 3 young children. In 2013 we established a boys academy in the tiny mountain village of El Rosario. In 2017 we founded a private Christian middles school where we teach Bible every day. This year, we had our first graduating class.”
“In November of 2018, by God’s amazing grace, we adopted 4 siblings, ages 2-7 years old. Our lives will never be the same. It’s like we’re starting all over again but this time without our youth. Haha. But what we lack in stamina, we more than make up for in wisdom in the Lord.”
“When we die, we want to have poured out every drop we had for the Gospel, for the Kingdom, for Jesus.”
