Revelation Week 4

Jesus & His Church: The responsibility and accountability of the Church

Orthodox Christians believe that the Bible is completely true in all that it affirms (correctly interpreted), the standard for truth (sola Scriptura), and applicable to all of life. It orients us to how we ought to live (ethics). We consider two possible errors we can make when appealing to the Bible for ethics. Finally, we discover that biblical ethics offers us a three-sided gem we must take into account in making our ethical decisions. Further Reading: 1. Pastor Joshua McGinley at Ascent Project Church on February 5, 2023

Join us this weekend as we consider the mission of Jesus. He came to set us free and yet we see so much addiction and bondage in our world. Why is that? Let’s consider it and pray that God will set us free this weekend. Hope to see you there live or online.

Mark’s Gospel really carries a rapid pace in this week’s passage. Amidst the flurry of activity, we comes to grips with the realities of spiritual battles and become challenged with who holds control over where our beliefs lead our actions.

In a day when many claim something to be “my truth,” Christians must understand the correspondence theory of truth. That is, when a belief corresponds to the way the world is, that belief has the attribute of being true. Further, we see that God has communicated truth both through His Word as well as His world.
