On the other side of salvation, the Israelites are drawn by the Lord into the Wilderness for a period of preparation. Wilderness spaces are unveiling spaces, testing spaces, and spaces of growth. How do we deal with our Wilderness seasons?

The story of Exodus 14 isn’t just about Israel’s escape from Egypt. It’s a powerful picture of what God still does today. The Red Sea crossing points to baptism, where we leave behind the bondage of sin and step into a new life of freedom through Jesus Christ. The same God who buried Pharaoh’s chariots now breaks the power of sin in our lives. Through the cross we are forgiven, and through the resurrection we are set free. Even after salvation, we can struggle with old mindsets and temptations, but God invites us to stand firm, see His victory, and be still as He fights for us. What once enslaved you no longer has power over you.

As Moses leads the Israelites through the Exodus and into salvation, the people need to decide how they are going to respond to the Lord. Will the salvation of the Lord serve as a point of liberation and yet leave the people with hard hearts? Or is there greater freedom the Lord desires in us and through us?

Ever felt too reluctant or afraid to step into what God is asking of you? In Exodus 7–12 we see Moses wrestle with his own fear and insecurity, yet God continues to show His unmatched power, His patient pursuit, and His ultimate rescue. This story reminds us that God’s deliverance is never about our strength but about His presence and power at work through us. Through the showdown with Pharaoh, the plagues that confronted Egypt’s false gods, and the first Passover pointing us to Jesus, we see a God who rescues His people and invites us to trust Him. Even in our weakness, He is faithful to deliver, and His rescue requires our response.
