Royal Family KIDS creates powerful, life-changing moments for children in Larimer and Weld Counties who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. Our goal is to restore their hope and interrupt the cycle of abuse.

Royal Family KIDS

Royal Family KIDS serves at-risk children in the foster care system in Larimer and Weld Counties and the families who care for them by providing them with unconditional love and acceptance. We focus on two areas:

Royal Family KIDS Camp, a weeklong summer camp for kids ages 7-12.

RFK Timberline Camp Graduate Program, a social program for teens 13-17 who have been to our camp.

Royal Family KIDS Camp

Royal Family KIDS was started in 1985 by a California pastor and his wife as a way to provide hope for local foster children. Today, the parent organization is known as For the Children and is a network of camps and programs hosted by church partners and non-profit agencies. There are more than 240 chapters in 44 states in the United States and 12 other countries that serve more than 10,000 children.

Timberline Church has been hosting Royal Family KIDS camps since 2016, serving children recommended by the Larimer and Weld County Departments of Human Services. With their history of trauma and abuse, many of the children in our programs have behavior issues that make it difficult to participate in other programs. We welcome these children with open arms.

More than 100 trained volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year to create moments that matter for these children of God to help them understand how much they are loved.

If you are interested in getting involved with RFK, please contact us. Our next camp will be June 9-14, 2024.

RFK Timberline Camp Graduate Program

The RFK Timberline Camp Graduate Program is for teens ages 13-17 who have been to RFK Camp. Under the guidance of qualified adult volunteers, camp graduates participate in meaningful group activities where they enjoy reconnecting with their camp friends and spending time together. Groups have gone to Rockies games, gone to movies, and simply gone out to lunch to spend quality time together. RFK Timberline also hosts annual group events, such as a fall trip to Fritzler Farm and a winter snow tubing excursion to Beaver Meadows.

If you are interested in making a difference in the life of one of our RFK Timberline camp graduates or offering financial support to help fund group activities, please email  and someone will get back with you.

FAQs
How can I get involved?

We have many opportunities to volunteer with RFK, from spending a week at camp to hanging out with a teen to helping plan and run events. Becoming a volunteer involves completing an application, which includes a background check, and participating in an interview with RFK leaders.

If you have a passion for serving at-risk kids and would like to be a part of our mission, we'd like to talk to you! Please email and we'll be in touch with you.

how do kids participate in rfk?

Kids involved with RFK are specifically nominated by the Department of Human Services - half from Larimer County and half from Weld County - as kids who they feel would best benefit from our programs. We currently have 44 kids involved with camp and 20+ in our camp graduate program, and we are hoping to grow both of those numbers by expanding our cadre of volunteers.

Do i have to be a member of timberline church to volunteer?

Timberline Church is the host church for RFK, but we have volunteers from many churches across Northern Colorado. If you or a group from your church would like to get involved, please contact us!

can I make a donation to RFK?

Yes! Our programs are free for children to participate, and we are able to make that happen through grants and donations from individuals and businesses throughout Northern Colorado. All donations are processed through Timberline Church and are tax deductible accordingly (but please talk to your tax advisor for the best advice).
